This is a couple of photos of Tabitha that I took today, Tabitha being of course the wild black kitten who mysteriously appeared at our place a few months ago. She has certainly grown since she adopted us!
And a few weeks back she discovered the best place to sleep at night is with Grandfather in his bed, where she now sleeps every night. This is one kitten who knows how to fall on her feet!

Miniature Roses
These little beauties are so often under-rated but some of these miniature roses I have photographed in our garden from time to time are quite exquisite.

Patchwork
I bought this lovely patchwork quilt set - shown on my bed - online from a very nice lady in Christchurch some years ago. I think it's machine made but I still really like it. I love patchwork and I think this is a very attractive star pattern. Making a patchwork quilt by hand is on my own "to do" list and one day maybe I'll finally get there! I love the artistry of those who are really good at this craft and can't think of a better family heirloom than a beautiful patchwork quilt.

The Front Garden
Below are some photos of the front garden which I have taken in recent years. Ours is not the kind of manicured garden you enter in a "best garden in the street" competition, more a riot of roses, dahlias and weeds! I guess you could say it's rambling......and there's not an annual in sight.
We do however have in it a cabbage tree, a snowball tree, a kowhai tree, a pohutakawa tree, azaleas, rhododendrons, camelias, snowdrops, bluebells, roses, dahlias, ferns, fuchsias, daffodils, flax, firs, hydrangeas, grape hyacinth, agapanthus and more...... quite the eclectic mix!
